Service — Mechanical Seal Replacement

Mechanical Seal Replacement in Ontario

RED Systems provides mechanical seal replacement support for centrifugal pumps and process pumps across Ontario. Seal failure is one of the most common pump problems. RED Systems identifies the correct seal from the pump model and serial number, sources the replacement, and coordinates installation.

Signs Your Equipment Needs Mechanical Seal Replacement

Leakage from the pump seal area
Visible seal face wear or cracking
Fluid weeping or dripping at stuffing box
Seal failure shortly after previous replacement
Vibration-related seal damage
Contamination of the process fluid
Process requiring zero leakage — double seal required

What RED Systems Can Support

Mechanical Seal Replacement — Common Questions

How do you identify the correct mechanical seal?
With the pump brand, model number, and serial number, RED Systems can identify the OEM seal specification and source a direct replacement or equivalent. A photo of the existing seal or nameplate helps confirm the configuration.
What is the difference between a single and double mechanical seal?
A single seal provides one barrier between the process fluid and atmosphere. A double seal has two seal faces and uses a buffer or barrier fluid between them — required for toxic, hazardous, or leakage-sensitive applications.
What is a cartridge seal and why use one?
A cartridge seal is a pre-assembled unit that includes the seal faces, springs, gland, and sleeve in a pre-set assembly. It installs in one piece without measuring or adjusting, which reduces installation time and errors.
Can you supply API flush plan components?
Yes. RED Systems can supply flush plan piping components and seal support systems for API 682 plan arrangements. Confirm the plan number and pump model at time of inquiry.
