Mechanical Services for Pumps and Rotating Equipment

Mechanical seal support, laser alignment, coupling and motor service, vibration analysis, and rotating equipment support for industrial, municipal, and commercial customers across Ontario.

Rotating Equipment and Mechanical Service Support

RED Systems provides mechanical service support for pumps and rotating equipment across Ontario. Mechanical services cover the components that surround and support the pump — seals, couplings, baseplates, motors, and alignment — as well as the diagnostic work that identifies why a pump is failing or underperforming.

Many pump failures are caused by mechanical issues outside the pump casing itself. A misaligned shaft stresses the seal. A worn coupling transfers vibration into the bearing. An incorrectly specified seal fails prematurely. RED Systems helps customers identify and address these root causes rather than repeatedly treating symptoms.

Mechanical Services RED Systems Provides

Mechanical Seal ReplacementService

Seal Identification, Sourcing & Replacement

Mechanical seal failure is one of the most common pump problems. RED Systems supports seal identification using the pump model and serial number, sources the correct replacement seal, and coordinates installation. Support covers single, double, and cartridge seal configurations.

  • Single seals
  • Double seals
  • Cartridge seals
  • Tandem arrangements
  • Seal supply only
Laser AlignmentService

Pump-to-Motor Shaft Alignment

Misalignment between the pump and motor shaft is a primary cause of bearing failure, seal wear, vibration, and premature equipment deterioration. RED Systems supports laser alignment for pump-motor sets — verifying and correcting both angular and offset misalignment to manufacturer tolerances.

  • Post-repair alignment
  • Post-installation checks
  • Scheduled PM alignment
  • Soft foot correction
Vibration AnalysisService

Vibration Measurement & Diagnosis

Unusual pump vibration is a diagnostic signal, not just a nuisance. RED Systems supports on-site vibration measurement and analysis to identify the source — misalignment, imbalance, bearing defects, cavitation, resonance, or structural issues — so the right corrective action can be taken.

  • Baseline measurement
  • Fault identification
  • Bearing condition check
  • Post-repair verification
Coupling SupportComponent

Coupling Inspection, Supply & Replacement

Couplings transmit torque between the pump and motor and absorb minor misalignment. A worn, cracked, or incorrect coupling contributes to vibration and premature failure of bearings and seals. RED Systems supports coupling inspection, identification, sourcing, and replacement.

  • Jaw couplings
  • Grid couplings
  • Disc couplings
  • Flexible element types
Motor SupportComponent

Motor Identification, Supply & Coordination

RED Systems supports electric motor identification and replacement for pump applications — TEFC, open drip, vertical, and explosion-proof configurations. Motor supply is coordinated with the pump frame, shaft diameter, coupling, and baseplate to ensure compatibility.

  • TEFC motors
  • Vertical hollow shaft
  • Explosion-proof
  • Motor-pump compatibility check
Baseplate SupportComponent

Baseplate Supply, Grouting & Levelling

A poorly installed baseplate causes soft foot, misalignment, and vibration. RED Systems supports baseplate identification and supply, and can coordinate grouting and levelling review as part of a pump installation or replacement project.

  • Baseplate supply
  • Soft foot check
  • Grouting coordination
  • Levelling review

Conditions That Indicate a Mechanical Issue

Seal leaking shortly after replacement
Bearing failures repeating on same pump
Vibration after a motor or coupling change
Vibration after repair or reinstallation
Coupling element wearing or breaking
Motor running hot with no electrical cause
Pump never ran smoothly after installation
Shaft showing wear marks from seal faces
Baseplate movement or grout deterioration

Mechanical Services — Common Questions

Can you identify the right mechanical seal from the pump model?
Yes. With the pump brand, model number, and serial number, RED Systems can identify the correct seal configuration and source a replacement. Photos of the existing seal are also helpful.
How often should pump alignment be checked?
Alignment should be verified after any pump repair or replacement, after a motor replacement, after any piping work near the pump, and as part of periodic preventive maintenance.
Can you do vibration analysis as a standalone service call?
Yes. RED Systems can coordinate a vibration measurement visit for a pump that is running rough, making unusual noise, or showing signs of bearing stress — without it being tied to a repair or rebuild.
Do you supply seals and couplings without installation?
Yes. Parts can be supplied without a service engagement. Provide the pump model, serial number, and the parts required and RED Systems will confirm availability and pricing.

Need Mechanical Service Support?

Send RED Systems the pump brand, model, serial number, description of the issue, and photos where available. We will confirm what mechanical service applies and coordinate the next step.
